Initially intended for a corporate audience, this 14 minute video is being used by activists both inside and outside the corporate environment. The program is valuable for educating viewers about the urgency of the rainforest issue and the need for everyone to be more aware of and sensitive to the severe ecological damage that results from rainforest destruction.
Did you know . . .
- It takes 100 million years to make a rainforest.
- Every second, an area of rainforest the size of 2
football fields is lost forever.
- Logging is a major cause of rainforest destruction.
- Millions of native people have died due to the invasion
of their rainforest homelands.
- Up to 90% of all animal and plant species live in the
rainforest and nowhere else.
- Rainforest destruction causes the extinction of 50,000
species per year, 17 every second.
- Most medicines are derived from the rainforest.
- At the current rate of destruction, experts believe all
rainforests will be gone by the year 2030.
Making a Difference includes commentary from a wide variety of well known experts; environmental
activists, scientists, popular authors and corporate leaders who
explain the critical nature of the rainforest issue, and call
for a corporate boycott of the rainforest destroyers.
Companies with a conscience have a significant role to play.
They can use their clout and buying power to influence
their business colleagues to act in an ecologically and socially
