I am a film and video writer/ producer/ director/ cinematographer/ editor. Working through my production company, Point of View Productions, I have made various films and tapes which collectively have won a total of 24 festival awards.

I have a special interest in programs about health and wellness, ecology and the environment, sustainable business and social responsibility, peace, anti-nuclear issues, international topics, social justice, the arts, empowerment, and subjects of special importance to women.

Overview:

Over 15 years experience producing, directing, shooting, lighting and editing for film and video, using a wide variety of formats and equipment. Before working with moving images I was a still photographer. I continue to do still photography, but making films and videos is the primary focus of my work.

My films and videos have been shown in a wide variety of venues in the USA and abroad. In Russia, WATER BABY was seen by an audience of over 30 million viewers. I have been an interview guest on many TV and radio shows, to discuss my award-winning documentaries. My photography has been included in a diverse assortment of popular and corporate publications, audio-visual presentations, books and gallery shows. The following is a partial list of credits.

Short documentary made for the Rainforrest Action Network, to inspire corporate responsibility and sustainability on environmental issues. Cinematographer/ Editor.

LOOK AT THE WORLD THROUGH WOMEN'S EYES
Half-hour documentary on the United Nations 4th World Conference on Women/NGO Forum in Beijing. Made for the U.S. Ecumenical Women's Network and the National Council of Churches, it focuses on the spiritual aspects of this gathering of 35,000 women from all over the world. ECO - CITIES CONFERENCE
Documentary for the 3rd International Eco-Cities Conference, held in Yoff, Senegal, which brought together an international group of environmentalists, architects, city planners and educators to share information on improving the ecology of urban areas. Producer/ Director/ Cinematographer.

THE WORLD WHEEL
Documentary on the work of a unique sculptor/ painter/ performer, Vijali Hamilton, who traveled around the globe in a wheel-shaped pattern, creating large sculptures in natural stone, as gifts for each of 12 communities she visited. These unusual pieces of art reflect the issues and concerns of local people. For three months Vijali and I traveled together in Asia as I videotaped her artistic creations and activities in India, Tibet and China. Co-Director/ Co-Cinematographer.

THE GREATEST GAMBLE: WOMEN & AIDS
For Peregrine Productions. Documentary about four heterosexual women with AIDS, and how the disease effects every aspect of their lives. Co-Director/ Co-DP/ Lighting/ Co-Cinematographer.

For the Elmwood Institute. A series of documentaries of public events which explore visions for an alternative future and their applications to current social and environmental problems. For GMMB & Associates. Segment on past gang member and current community leader Sherman Spears, for the president's 1994 forum on conflict resolution. Field Producer/ Director/ Cinematographer.

QUEST FOR PEACE
For UC Irvine. A series that explores ideas and strategies for peace through interviews with leading thinkers worldwide. Director/ Cinematographer for two segments, featuring Japanese ambassador Ryukichi Imai and the Reverend Robert Hammerton-Kelly.

SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND -
CHERNOBYL & THREE MILE ISLAND: A SPACEBRIDGE
For Internews. PBS Documentary about a groundbreaking satellite spacebridge that linked scientists in 5 American cities and 5 Soviet cities through a live teleconference, to discuss safer approaches to future energy needs. Co-Cinematographer for San Francisco segment.

SAN FRANCISCO/MOSCOW TELEPORT
Documentation of various photophone citizen diplomacy exchanges in the 80's between groups of individuals and organizations in the USA and the USSR, over a four year period. Included the first Soviet/ American Cartoon Art Exchange at the San Francisco Art Commission Gallery, which featured a live photophone exchange with Moscow and a panel discussion with Soviet and American cartoonists. SAN FRANCISCO/MOSCOW: FACE TO FACE
For the Ark Foundation. An inspirational short that documented a photophone exchange connecting Soviet computer students with their San Francisco counterparts in Gorbachev's USSR. Cinematographer.

SAN FRANCISCO UNIVERSITY HIGH SCHOOL
Documentation of a special "Hunger Banquet" event created to dramatize the inequity of food resources worldwide, and to teach affluent students about issues of hunger in the Third World by bringing them into direct personal contact with the problem. Cinematographer.

WHY DO THESE KIDS LOVE SCHOOL?
For Concentric Media. Documentary on alternative education and the innovative methods that stimulate a true love of learning in students. Partial cinematography.

SAN FRANCISCO WALDORF SCHOOL
Documentation of various special presentations by educators Henry Barnes, Rene Querido, Robert McDermott and others. Cinematographer.

GREENPEACE and the BAY AREA PEACE NAVY
Documentary on civil disobedience actions by Greenpeace and Peace Navy activists during fleet week, to focus attention on anti-nuclear issues. Co-Cinematographer for this 7 camera shoot.

SURF FOR LIFE
For Energon Productions. Documentary on healthy aging, which focuses on surfers over age 50. Shows how the sport they love has helped them stay strong, vital and healthy. Partial cinematography.

FATE OF THE EARTH CONFERENCE
For Envisage Productions. Documentary on a three day anti-nuclear event held at the Church of St. John The Devine, in New York City. Co-Cinematographer.

WOMEN'S SAC CARAVAN
For Helene Aylon Productions. Documentary on the anti-nuclear work of a group of women, which included rituals and demonstrations at Lawrence Berkeley and Livermore Laboratories. Partial cinematography.

THE LAST INNOCENT SUMMER
For Ran Cochran Films. Feature film about a friendship between an older black jazz musician and a white teenage boy, set in Jackson, Mississippi in the early 60's. Within the framework of a dramatic story this film deals with racism, social justice, ethics and values formation. Director of Photography/ Cinematographer.

THE DEVIL'S GIFT
